Account & Data Deletion
Asire doesn't yet have a self-serve "delete my account" button in the app, so deletion goes through a short, verified email request instead. Here's exactly how it works and what's retained.
1. How to request deletion
- Email [email protected] from the same email address registered on your Asire account, with the subject "Delete my account."
- We'll reply to confirm we received the request and, if needed, ask you to verify your identity (for example, by confirming details only the account owner would know).
- Once verified, we process the deletion. You'll get a confirmation email when it's complete.
We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. If you'd rather just stop using Asire without deleting anything, you can simply sign out — nothing is deleted automatically from inactivity.
2. What gets deleted
- Your account and login credentials (managed via Firebase Authentication).
- Your profile: name, email address, and avatar.
- Your device push-notification tokens.
- Direct (1:1) conversations where you're the only remaining participant, and your voice notes/images within conversations you're part of, to the extent technically separable from the other participant's copy of the conversation.
3. What isn't deleted, and why
Asire is a collaborative workspace tool — much of what you create belongs to a shared workspace, not to you individually. Deleting your personal account does not delete:
- Tasks, comments, and project content you created inside a workspace — these remain part of that workspace's record for the teammates who still rely on it, the same way deleting your account on Slack or Asana wouldn't erase messages you sent in a shared channel. Your name may be retained as the author of that historical content, or replaced with a generic "deleted user" label, depending on the field.
- Group chat messages you sent, where other participants remain in the conversation.
- Records we're legally required to keep, for example for security-incident investigation or to comply with a legal obligation, kept only as long as the law requires.
- Backups that already existed at the time of your request, until they naturally cycle out per our normal backup retention.
If you want a specific piece of workspace content removed rather than your whole account deleted, ask the workspace Owner or Admin — they control what stays in the workspace they administer.
4. Leaving or deleting a workspace, without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your whole account to leave a single workspace — ask the Workspace Owner/Admin to remove you, and your access to that workspace ends immediately. If you're the sole Owner of a workspace and want the entire workspace (and its projects, tasks, and chat) deleted rather than just your own account, say so explicitly in your email to [email protected] — that's a different, larger request than personal account deletion and we'll confirm scope with you before acting on it.
5. Contact
Send deletion requests, or questions about this process, to [email protected].
