An inbox that's actually finishable
Most notification systems optimise for volume: tell the user everything, let them sort it out. That produces an inbox nobody reads. We went the other way and made the inbox something you can reach the bottom of.
What lands in the inbox
- Someone @mentions you in a task comment or a conversation.
- A task is assigned to you, or one you own is reassigned away.
- A task you're on is due soon or overdue.
- You're invited to a workspace or project.
Notably absent: every status change on every task in the workspace. That belongs on the board and in the activity feed, not in a personal inbox, and mixing the two is how inboxes become noise.
Push, where you asked for it
Mentions, assignments, and incoming calls can push to your devices. Everything else stays in the inbox until you open it. You control the split per device in settings, and turning push off for a device doesn't silently turn off the inbox entry too.
Read state that follows you
Reading a notification on your phone marks it read on the desktop. This sounds obvious and is the single most common complaint about tools that get it wrong, so it's worth stating plainly: you'll clear each item once.
