Delete your account, report content, block people
Two things every workspace tool owes the people using it: a way out, and a way to deal with someone behaving badly. Both are now built into the app, and both finish in a few taps from wherever you already are.
Deleting your account
Settings → Account → Delete account. The screen lists exactly what goes before you confirm anything, because "delete" means different things in different products and you should not have to guess which one we meant.
- Your profile, sign-in, photo, notifications and signed-in devices are deleted. You cannot sign in again with that email address.
- Your direct conversations go with them. A one-to-one thread is as personal to you as it is to the other person, and half a thread is not worth keeping.
- Messages you posted in group and team channels stay, shown as from a deleted user, so the rest of the thread still reads for everyone else in it.
- A workspace where you are the only member is deleted along with its projects, tasks and files.
- A workspace other people use survives. If you owned it, ownership passes to a remaining admin, so nobody loses work because you left.
Deletion is permanent. There is no restore, no grace period, and support cannot undo it — which is why the confirmation step spells it out rather than asking you to tap OK.
Reporting a message or a person
Press and hold any message that is not yours and you get Reply, Report message and Block. A member's row in Settings → Members carries the same Report and Block. Reporting asks what is wrong — harassment, hate speech, sexual content, violence, self-harm, spam, illegal content, or something the list does not cover — and gives you a box to explain in your own words.
Reports go to our moderation team, not to the person you reported. They are never told who reported them. We also keep a copy of the reported message alongside the report, so someone deleting it afterwards does not make the report meaningless.
Blocking someone
Blocking sits on the same sheet as reporting, so you can do both in one step — or block on its own, without filing anything.
- Your direct conversation disappears, on both sides.
- Their messages are hidden in shared channels you are both in, so you do not have to leave a channel to stop seeing someone.
- They cannot start a new conversation with you or call you. The call is refused before your phone rings.
Blocks are reversible. Settings → Blocked accounts lists everyone you have blocked, with an unblock button beside each one.
